Jeremy Matthews was born on the island of Eon, a small island in the Pentach archipelago. The island was the center of a dozen islands, only five of which(including Eon) large enough to sustain a city state. At the time, there was one government for every island, and they were in a constant state of war. He grew up not knowing his father, and his mother died soon after his fifth birthday. From a very early age Jeremy had a great interest in science, magic, and the occult. When he was 7, both of his foster parents were mutilated horribly, their blood forced out of their bodies through every opening. Though unaware of it at the time, Jeremy had developed a sadistic alter ego with psionic powers to match even the most powerful of government psionicists. His knack for alchemy led him to work in Eon's factories, where he introduced the concept of a delayed spell applied to projectiles. At the age of 21, he was a full fledged battle mage.

During a raid on an airship factory on the northern island, Stratis, Jeremy and two of his companions were captured by the militia and detained. When the interrogators got to Jeremy, they attempted to force open his mind for information. The interrogation had been going well until they stumbled onto a heavily guarded portion of Jeremy's mind and, like the information hoarding fools they were, decided to break the 9 seals around the back of his mind. The final door bore a symbol of a large winged snake, shining red as if blood flowing in the grooves of the door was reflecting the light from other parts of his mind. When the door was opened, a huge black winged snake, mouth dripping blood, shot out of the darkness and swallowed the consciousness of one of the psionicists whole, as his body spurted blood out of every opening, just like 14 years before. The other psionicists withdrew their minds quickly, but were greeted by the most horrifying laughter they had ever heard as the blood from their fallen comrade moved of its own accord towards the prisoner. Jeremy's eyes were burning, as if containing the very fires of hell itself. The worthless sacks of meat that were once human fell, their blood staining the floor, walls, and ceiling. The laughter stopped, if only for a second, as Jeremy's body began to writhe about like he was trapped in his own skin. His body exploded, sending a massive wave of gore and psionic energy rippling through the room and out of the base. The only thing that was heard was a great shrieking hiss, and all of the soldiers in the complex were devoured, one by one.
As the last of what was once Jeremy Matthews slipped into the abyss, there was a hissing whisper into the minds of every being for miles. "I....am...Loki.."

The five city states that existed in that island group were discovered by explorers some 500 years later, completely ruined. Every book from the massive libraries on Eon was gone, along with any knowledge. All of the rivers that cut through the cities were red with blood even after 500 years of decay. Carved upon the great tower of Eon, was the symbol of the winged snake. The explorers knew this symbol... Sarc, Demon god of Law.
